The Chinese Spear (Qiang) is used in many variations on the pre-modern Chinese battlefield. It is one of the four major weapons, called in this group "The King of Weapons". Many generals preferred the use of the spear because it's techniques and applications were superior to those of other weapons. Because the spear was normally light given it's great length it could be wielded with quickness and agility. This spear is a beautiful, fully functional replica of an ancient military weapon used only by elite Chinese troops. The leaf shaped blade is hand forged from folded pattern steel and finished with a traditional 13 stage hand polished finish. It features a crescent moon axe blade protruding from one side which offers a second cutting edge for slashing and can also be used to hook the opponent's weapon. The shaft is made from top quality stainless steel. The tassel shows elite troop status and also serves a tactical purpose. When the spear is moving quickly, the tassel aids in blurring the vision of the opponent. Qiang are generally used for long distance attacks, with fast and powerful lethality. This spear is very sharp and can be used for cutting or thrusting. Each spear has been fully handmade from the ground up, no two blades will be exactly alike.
