Our hand forged folded steel katana is a colorful steel sword made through the traditional Japanese process. This blade has been folded 13 times, resulting in over 8,000 layers. After the sharpening work, the blade is specially treated to highlight the distinctly beautiful color. If you want to add a red bladed samurai sword to your collection, this is the perfect choice.
There are three different color variations present in this sword, including black, red, and a fusion of the two. It comes with a hardwood saya (scabbard), silk sageo (sheath cord), ito (handle wrap), and same'gawa (under wrap) in the color of your choice.
The tang is secured into the handle with two bamboo mekugi and features a hand engraved mei (signature). This folded steel katana is ideal for dojo students, as it is durable enough for cutting tameshigiri and bamboo. Purchase it as a gift, for cutting practice, or for display purposes.
The colorful film on the blade is very durable and will not come off with normal use. Each sword is individually handmade to order, so details may vary slightly from sword to sword.
