Takanaka Shigekado

A military commander of the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo period. He is from Mino. His father is Takenaka Hanbei Shigeharu. His childhood name is Hansuke, his character is Ikei, and his common name is Kichisuke. Following his father, he served Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI, and at the Battle of Sekigahara, he switched from the Western Army to the Eastern Army, and was successful in capturing Yukinaga KONISHI. He learned Japanese and Chinese studies from Razan Hayashi and excelled in waka poetry and writing. He is the author of "Toyokan". He died in 1631 at the age of 59.
