The blade is Unokubi-Zukuri style, with a back that gets thinner around the middle of the blade and regains its thickness just before the point. It's made of 1095 high carbon steel, clay tempered. It is a very strong sword made with traditional methods. The blade was repeatedly heat treated and hand forged to remove impurities, which gives it strength and flexibility. The blade is full tang with hand engraved Mei (Signature). It is fully functional and battle ready. The sword comes with a rayskin wrapped hard wood saya with buffalo horn at the ends, silk sageo/ito, premium engraved copper fittings, and genuine rayskin. It is suitable for dojo and iaito use, gifts, cutting practice, and display. For those who want an extremely durable sword, this is a very good choice. It is strong enough for tameshigiri, bamboo, bones, and iron wire.

to be honest. the first example was not so well, because I could not see the hamon. It was not intense and my saya was different from the pictures one. So I did not like it. they forged me another one, with what I prefered and told them(more intense hamon). and it looks very good now. I also changed the fittings and tsuba, to another one, what I liked way more. the blade looks very good now. it swings not the same way, like normal katanas, because of it's special design and steel form. I can feel the difference. to be honest, it is a bit harder to swing with it, then with my other regular katana. the steel is lighter, and in the grip you feel a lot of focus. so you swing with another technique. but the blade as one is very qualitative. It is an special version from steel design, and I like it, that it is different. it fits perfect to my katana set. and I dont want that all my blades look and be the same. I wanted special ones. and this was the one, which I wanted first from this side. the steel is made in one whole example like it looks. I had 1-2 small rust spots, which came from the long delivery to my country. but in general and overall the steel has very good and clear quality. it looks also very balanced. the hamon is very well made at my one. the blade looks very good and a bit brutal for me, when you hold it haha. it is huger then my other katana, were I was wondering first. it could be sharper for me, at some spots. but at the sweet spot it cuts very well. I need to give the blade 5 stars, because no matter what, it is a good katana. what I mostly like is the design. and also the fittings which I chosed. they looked way better in real then on picture. what suprised me immensely. it looks good in tsuba, on sword stand, and also battle ready in my hands. my hamon looks also a bit different then on the picture here. but I like mine even more. it is a bit huger. this one looks very fine. I liked it when I saw it first time on the pictures which they made me.

Overall I am happy with this sword. I use it for practice. The tsuba is textured and a bit rough on the thumb but I have gotten used to it. Also, I have had to keep it oiled due to rust beginning to form from contact during practice.
