Featuring a 1095 high carbon steel blade, this katana shirasaya is clay tempered and hand polished for a mirror-like finish. We combined our traditional Japanese swordsmithing methods with a simple wooden handle and scabbard to create a mesmerizing contrast between the glimmering blade and the clean, matte wood finish.
Our clay tempering process creates a tough and flexible blade with a genuine hamon (temper line). Repeatedly heat-treated to remove impurities, our katana with a wooden handle and scabbard is a blend of beauty and functionality.
A hand-sharpened, battle-ready sword, this katana shirasaya comes with a number of features. Along with a natural hardwood shirasaya style handle, you also get a saya (scabbard) embellished with buffalo horn. The tang is secured with two mekugi and includes a free personalized engraving. Other notable features include:
You can use this katana shirasaya to cut bamboo, bones, iron wire, and more.
