It is known for its creation by the famous elven smith Rhunön, who created it by controlling Eragon’s body to craft. The faux blue sapphire on the end of the handle completes the blade, as well as the horned appearance of the handguard, paying homage to the dragon of Eragon, Saphira. The blade bears the engraving "Brisingr", as the glyph for "Fire" in the ancient language.
