The chokuto is a unique Japanese sword that is characterized by a single straight-edged blade. Common in Japan prior to the 9th century, this sword was inspired by similar blades that were created during the same period in China. Most of the time, chokuto blades were used by foot soldiers or during hand to hand combat when stabbing and slashing was necessary. Many wore their swords hung from the waist.
This Japanese straight sword offers you a high-quality carbon steel blade that is complemented by the all-white sheath and handle. A gold accent on the handle is the only embellishment. For perfect balance during iaido and kenjutsu training, there is no better choice than this black oxidized color-treated blade.
